At the price I figured it was worth a purchase. Used the tiller on pre-dug ground and it made an excellent job. Its a small light weight 2-3HP unit so don't expect it to do the work of a tractor....After 6 months of light use the unit began making a rattle and no rotation of tines, called Burrowmount, they collected it and repaired and back within the week. New gearbox required.Interesting point - the new gearbox has a greasing point on it while the original did not. This is much better - i can remove two screws and periodically pump fresh grease through and push out the old grease.i would not use this tiller on un-dug ground or very heavy ground - its simply not able for that, but you should not find that surprising given the cost and HP involved.Another nice aspect is the unit is narrow enough to till between my rows of veg which has allowed me do some real rapid weeding at low rpm

This is a great little tiller. I use it on my allotment and its compact size means its readily portable in my car and easy to store. It's powerful too - It makes easy going of clay soil and I used it to rip up my lawn for relaying without any hint of clogging or slowing down. This machine has proved to be great value for money.Update Jan 2021: I have used this device so much, it has taken a pounding and I am needing to perform basic maintenance tasks. I have called upon the supplier (Burrowmount) twice and have been delighted by the response. This is a great device from a great supplier.

Well here's the thing for this price of 126£ I could either own one or hire from local builders merchant for 110£ for the day. So I decided to buy it... First thing first... Assembly is OK but the wheel/depth adjustment is very fiddly. This doesn't have enough power to dig diwn 20cm as advertised. Even on very soft soil it goes about 10cm and then it stop rotating due to engine power. So you constantly have to go back and do it very slowly.On harder ground soil unless you water it you have no chance of even scraping the top layer. After all day of watering the area I wanted to rotovate it still struggled to go past 5 cm (2inches).Ear muffs and glasses are very good but the gloves stain hands badly and I can't get it off after 2 days of washing with a brush.Overall its better to go for more powerful engine as it will make your job easier.Make sure you buy at least 5 ltr petrol canister for unleaded and 2 stroke oil. Mixing tub is supplied by the seller.

Having read some of the reviews I was a little unsure what top expect. It was fine for the what it is designed for, its a Tiller, not a Rotavator. It will cut through a vegetable patch and turn the top 150mm into fine soil. It will not cut through hard compressed ground, well not very easily. The engine is powerful, I just got ride of a very old Mantis and this is more powerful than that. One thing I would point out is the Petrol/oil mix. The instructions say 25:1 a label on the m/c sat 40:1. Before use I contacted the supplier and they stated start with 25:1 and reduce to 40:1 after its run in. Would have been helpful to state that in the instructions. It seems we are all getting used to poor instructions and take it for granted. Anyway I am happy with the product.
